Bottle, schmottle
Having learned to drink beer in Germany, I must confess to being rather particular about drinking out of a glass. Indeed, I’m particular not only about having a glass, but also about having the proper glass. By the time I left Germany I had two large boxes of beer glasses of all shapes and kinds, and I’m fairly well equipped for most beers, although the focus is obviously on Germany.
Since I’ve been back in the US (and it’s been over 15 years now, although it doesn’t feel like it) I’ve weakened somewhat on that stance, drinking out of the bottle when need be. I don’t drink many beers which come in a can to begin with, other than the Yuengling my father buys to placate me, but those I definitely drink out of a glass.
Now the gents at Sam Adams have decided to design the perfect glass, according to a recent story from realbeer.com. What appears to be an ad for the new glass is shown above, although I can’t say as I’ve seen it anywhere other than the realbeer site.
Now, while I’m not a huge fan of Sam Adams beer, I have to applaud them for the effort, and I have to admit to being intrigued. If you’ve tried it, let me know if it makes a difference.
