74 Year Old Woman “Creates” Drive Through to Buy Budweiser

Apparently this is the week of the stupid beer drinker (well, it is a holiday week in the US). After I reported on the three teens who robbed a convenience store and left a trail of beer cans behind, I came across this little gem…
On the other end of the age spectrum, a 74 […]

Stupid Beer Thieves Leave Trail of Beer Cans

Some stories, no matter how silly, are just too good to pass up. Like this one…
In my home state of North Carolina, a trail of beer cans helped police solve a break-in in Roanoke Rapids. Around 5:30 a.m. on June 30, three teenagers smashed the windows of a local market, stealing the cash […]

The Great Welsh Beer and Cider Festival

One of my favorite cities in the world is Cardiff, Wales. It’s really lovely, the people are just wonderful and they make a good beer.
Check out this video of the Great Welsh Beer and Cider Festival:

Are Smoking Bans Killing the Beer Industry?

Chris claims that the British lager is dead. Maybe he’s right. But is there something more happening?

Hey Canada, Is it the Molson?

A new study by Statistics Canada, the national statistical agency for Canadian business, economy and society, indicates that more Canadians are putting down a beer bottle in favor of wine.
In 1997, 52% of alcoholic beverage sales in Canada were comprised of beer. Wine accounted for a mere 21% of alcoholic beverages sold.
Ten years later, […]

Jerry Brigitte K … oh, I give up

For anyone who cares, I did in fact crack open my bottle of La JBK from Kohler Rehm, and it’s neither dark nor a Maibock. To be honest, I have no idea what it was, but it was reasonably tasty, if a little on the sweet side.
I still have no idea what the name […]

Beer and asparagus, perfect together

Yesterday I wrote about Vogelbräu, a brewpub in Karlsruhe Germany. I had neglected to mention that, not only was it an evening with perfect biergarten weather it was asparagus season, as you can see from the above photo.
Now, for those of us who grew up with green asparagus, those funny looking white things in […]
