Heat and beer
As I mentioned, we’re traveling in the Southeastern US right now, and that brings me to a word about heat. We left Philly this week in part due to our inadequate air conditioning (the in-laws down here keep the house at refrigerator-like temps), but with temperatures pushing eighty it’s not very nice here either. Not a big surprise, really.
Anyway, I know some people like beer on a hot day, but I have to say it just makes me dehydrated and crabby unless I’m sitting in a beergarden under the shade of a Chestnut tree. In this heat and humidity, though, I’m not sure even that would be pleasant. I have some friends who swear by so-called “lawn mower beer” on hot days, but I have to say I prefer water.
There aren’t many other things which would make me pick water over beer.
