According to this article from the BBC, a brewery in Kenya has come out with an inexpensive beer called Senator Keg Beer in the hopes of winning converts from even less expensive (but potentially lethal) home brewed spirits. Perhaps coincidentally, Kenya is the birthplace of US Senator Barack Obama’s father, and the beer is commonly referred to in Kenya as an “Obama.” Apparently it’s been quite a hit, so much so that authorities are concerned about the increase in alcohol consumption (in fairness, though, that concern also applies to the more dangerous alternatives.
The real question is, what would happen if you ordered an Obama in small town Pennsylvania?
